Placenta encapsulation is the method of dehydrating the placenta after birth and placing it into capsules for the new mother to ingest. Placentas have been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine since the 1500s.

The process
- Ideally preparation begins within 48 hours of birth
- Placenta should be refrigerated in an enclosed container (up to 48 hours) or frozen
- Some hospitals hold the placenta for 24 hours — check your hospital's policy
- Collection fee may apply; your partner or a support person can bring the placenta
- Whole process takes about 24 hours; begins within 12–48 hours
Capsules are stored in a BPA-free amber sealed jar with desiccant pack, personally delivered or express posted.
